The Story Behind the Look

The Tampa Bay Rays City Connect collection celebrates what makes Tampa Bay unlike anywhere else in baseball. Designed to honor the region's counterculture roots — skate, street art, streetwear, tattoo, and music — the City Connect look draws inspiration from the murals of downtown St. Petersburg, the streets of Ybor City, and the independent spirit that has defined this community for decades.

That inspiration runs all the way back to 1978, when Tampa became home to the Southeast's first public skatepark. The bold black and neon palette, the flame-accented "Tampa Bay" wordmark, and the SkyRay cap logo connecting the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to the team's identity — it's a look built for fans who know the region, not just the roster.
